Ena celebrated Tommy's long and successful life by organising a short festival on the 24-26 Sept 2004, in the village of Frensham, Surrey, UK, where they had spent the last thirty years of their life. Joe Sakimoto and a group of his students travelled from Japan for the occasion.
Jim Hughes and Douglas Tate gave workshops on the Friday, and there was a concert in the British Legion on the Saturday evening, where everyone participated. Chris Collis and the String Quartet Pro Musica played and provided accompaniment.
A celebrity concert was held on the Sunday evening in the local church of St Mary's, where Tommy is buried. Local singers joined Douglas Tate, Jim Hughes, Ola Braein, Philip Achille, and Frank Seamus. Chris Collis and the String Quartet Pro Musica played and provided accompaniment. It was a great success and it raised over £1000 for the church funds.
It may be repeated next year.
